1. R.M.S. Lusitania 2. Zeppelins 3. Machine Guns
1. The R.M.S. Lusitania was a British cruise liner. In 1915, it was torpedoed by the German Navy off of the coast of Irleand. This killed 1,192 people. Germany did this because they believed that the U.S. was giving Britain weapons. The sinking of the Lusitania is the leading cause of the U.S.'s entrance into World War I. This turning point in the war was caused by unrestricted submarine warfare."The Lusitania Resource." The Lusitania Resource. The Lusitania Resource, 1 May 2005. Web. 10 June 2014. This website helped give me statistics about the sinking of the Lusitania. It also gave decent explanations on why the incident occurred, and how exactly the sinking went down.
2. Zeppelins are German airships. They were named after popular designer Ferdinand von Zeppelin. Though they were used during the Paris siege of 1870, the technology was far more advanced during World War I. The use of the zeppelin was encouraged by the German Navy, who thought it would solve many ongoing problems. The airships patrolled much of Northeastern Europe, and were manufactured by the German Navy. Zeppelins were used for air raids, including one on London on May 31st, 1915. After the war was over, the Treaty of Versailles required Germany to give all of their airships to the Allies, however instead of giving them to the Allies, Germany destroyed the as many as possible.

3. Machine guns became increasingly popular during World War I. The most popular ones used by the United States were the Browning M1917, and the Browning M1918 Automatic Rifle. Other popular guns included the French Hotchkiss Model 1914, German Maxim MG08, and the British Vickers Machine Gun. These weapons played key roles in the large loss of life during World War I, making the war more bloody than any seen before."WW1 Machine Guns." WW1 Machine Guns. Military Factory, n.d. Web. 10 June 2014. This website helped me identify different types of machine guns, and how they were used. It included information on each of their backgrounds and if they were used in previous fights in their respective countries.
